A lot of different points can be brought up in the debate about which NHL team has the best fans, but the point that always seems to have the most weight to it is attendance numbers.

Obviously teams that can pack their arena up each and every night have a tendency to be viewed as the teams with the best fans and while that might not always be true, it's tough to argue against.  This year, for example, the NHL's top attendance leaders are teams we would definitely think of as being in the running for having the best fans in hockey, and two of the top-five teams are Canadian.

When you think of the best hockey cities in the United States, the three American cities (Chicago, Vegas, Minnesota) in the top-five usually come to mind.  Vegas in at No. 2 is also a reminder that yes, hockey CAN work in the desert.

It also works in Canada and it's no surprise the Leafs and Jets are the top-two of the Canadian clubs as far as attendance is concerned.  It also seems like they have the best chance going forward of ending Canada's Stanley Cup drought, so having a good team certainly helps.

Also, before Montreal fans come at us in the comments, we know your average attendance is higher, but this list was based on percentage of seats filled to account for the different arena capacities.
