The bench bosses of the NHL are some absolute characters, aren’t they?

Unfortunately, when the NHL asked players from around the league to provide their best impersonation of their coach, a good amount of them chickened out. You kind of understand why, but understanding why is no fun.

It’s all good! A couple of guys gave it their best attempt (shout out John Klingberg’s take on Jim Montgomery!), and Tuukka Rask absolutely nails his Bruce Cassidy.

Nicely done. All we’re missing is a good “let’s get some pucks in deep,” maybe a Corsi reference or two.

If only more NHL players were like Jesse or Corwin, who wouldn’t necessarily be great NHL coaches, but are definitely down to do their best impression of one. Wonder what Boone Jenner’s Jesse impersonation is like...
