Trevor Zegras is quickly making a name for himself at the NHL level, but it’s his nickname that’s starting to catch some attention across the hockey world.
A nickname is really all an NHL rookie has when they enter the league and our guy Trevor snatched a good one. We guess he didn’t technically give it to himself, but defenceman Cam Fowler is calling him something we’ve never heard before, and here’s a hint: it’s a type of cheese that regularly appears on most charcuturie boards.
We’re not just talking about Gouda here people. Oh no. We’re talkin’ ‘Lil Gouda’.
Oh baby.
But why? Didn’t really give a reason there, could it have been because of the muzzy from the World Js?
Turns out Zegs isn’t the only youngster to have gotten the nickname treatment this year. His American buddy Jack Hughes also received one from a big-named veteran defenceman and to be honest, it’s kinda nice.
So, what’re you feelin; Lil Gouda or Gentlemen’s Jack? Or neither, because hockey players are kind of strange and have the weirdest nicknames?
