Trae Young and Devin Booker each had 24 field goals attempted and combined for 81 points

It was an emotional night in the NBA as players were mourning the loss of Kobe Bryant. Trae Young was just one of many who paid homage to Kobe, and did so by starting the game wearing number 8 on his jersey as opposed to his normal #11.

Trae Young put up 45 points as the Hawks beat the Wizards 152 - 133. Diving deeper into those 45 points was an unbelievable connection to Kobe Bryant.

Devin Booker was also clearly emotional after the Grizzlies took a 24 second violation right off the tip. Booker ended up scoring 36 points of his own in the Suns loss to Memphis. After both games concluded, one twitter user discovered a crazy stat line shared by Young and Booker.

Young and Booker both put up 24 field goal attempts, and combined for 81 points. Of course 81 points is Kobe Bryant’s career high that he scored against the Toronto Raptors in 2006.

You truly can’t make this stuff up.
