Toronto’s Mayor, John Tory, has had a big couple of weeks in Toronto.
A city that has been starved of Championships for years no seems full of them with the Argos and Toronto FC winning the leagues. Of course, if you’re a CFL or NLL, the drought wasn’t as long as some people would have you believe, but the biggest sports teams in Toronto have struggled notoriously over the past couple of decades.
In fact, even TFC who now seems like they will be a force in the MLS for years was mocked for their perennial struggles not long ago. Well, apparently John Tory believes those times are over.
So, not only does he state that TFC will win again next season, but he’s also expecting some other parades before then.
Of teams that might host a parade in the city before this time next year, there are three: The Toronto Raptors, Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays. The Jays are seeming less and less likely as their division rivals continue to build super team-like rosters, but the Raptors and Leafs both have a reasonable chance at a title.
Both have some power house squads to overcome, but in a seven game series, anything can happen.
