Well, it's officially 2017. Do you feel any different today? Does it feel like a new year?
For most, it probably just feels like another day, and the biggest adjustment we have to make at this point is remembering to put "2017" on documents that require the date rather than "2016."
That being said, the new year provides us with an opportunity to start fresh, follow through on resolutions and do things in our lives differently. In fact, most people probably want to start 2017 with a bang, and if you follow in the footsteps of Toni Kroos, you'll be well on your way to doing so.
Kroos, who plays for Real Madrid and won a World Cup with Germany in 2014, sent out a classic "Happy New Year" tweet, but it had a brilliant joke embedded in it.
For those of you that don't get the joke, don't worry, it's brilliantly subliminal at first.
Rather than using the last two numbers in "2017" to wish everyone a Happy New Year, Kroos substituted the "1" with a Brazil flag and the "7" with a Germany flag, which just so happens to be the score of the Germany/Brazil game in the 2014 World Cup semi-finals.
So, brilliant trolling made its way to 2017, too. Some things never change.
