It’s not often that Aaron Rodgers has the upper hand on Tom Brady. Both players are arguably the two best quarterbacks of their era (okay, let’s throw Peyton in their too), but this past week has proven to be an exception.
After all, it’s not like Aaron Rodgers has ever forgotten when it was fourth down on the field.
Let’s flash back to last Thursday for a moment. The Bucs are driving, Brady has the ball. On fourth down, the six-time Super Bowl winner made a head-scratching deep throw rather than pick up the 5+ yards he needed for the first down. As it turned out, Brady thought it was third and the game was over (and the internet’s best NFL meme of 2020 was born).
Well, Brady is set to face Rodgers this Sunday and the latter’s RB, Jamaal Williams, made sure to crack a joke at the opposing quarterback’s expense.
Okay, easy Jamaal. First of all, Tom is the GOAT and you know it. Second, you’re a backup running back who has not accomplished nearly as much as Tom in your career, so pipe it bud! And third… IT WAS AN HONEST MISTAKE! GET OVER IT! He wasn’t the only NFLer, however, to crack a joke involving Tom’s miscue.
We’re sure Tom will be looking to redeem himself in a battle of two of the NFC’s strongest teams. Keep stirring that pot and see what happens, Jamaal!
