It’s the end of an era. Tom Brady is still playing quarterback for the New England Patriots, but he’s not tearing up opposing defenses like we’ve seen over the past couple of decades. The Patriots are winning games through defense first, and that’s a weird sight to see.
Across the board, Brady’s numbers are down. His completion percentage sits just above 60%, and his quarterback rating of 86.5 is good enough for 25th in the NFL. With Brady having a surprisingly lackluster season, he’s missed out of the Pro Bowl for the first time since 2008.
Tom Brady had made ten straight Pro Bowls, which was one heck of a streak. Realistically, Brady probably couldn’t care less about missing out on a free trip to Orlando. He likely wouldn’t have gone even if he did get the Pro Bowl nod.
The Patriots are still sitting pretty in the AFC with an 11-3 record. Although Brady’s offense is nothing like the explosive unit it once was, it doesn’t have to be. They’re supported by the best scoring defense in the NFL and are once again heading back to the playoffs.
At the end of the day, Brady will be fine. The only achievements that he’s currently eyeing is winning his seventh Super Bowl ring.
