Today, we were reminded of the time the ice in Nashville was painted gold

This strange and unprecedented lull in professional sports has left fans reminiscing in every way you can imagine.

Some are remembering  heartwarming sports moments, some are reliving the pain of heartbreaking ones, and some are drumming up the memories of the absolute weirdest ones.

Example: today, Reddit user Gumpyyy reminded us of the time back in 2013 when the ice in Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena was painted the Predators’ signature, controversial, and dizzying gold.

Talk about needing shades inside!

This wild-looking playing surface was only used for a fan event during the summer, but some die-hard fans of the gold were loving the look for regulation play.

Of course, the ‘don’t eat the snow’ jokes were just as popular.

If you’re asking yourself ‘why?’ in regards to the gold ice, then we’ll respond with the same reason the Preds used at the time.
