There isn’t any hockey to watch right now, but T.J. Oshie stepped up in a big way over the past five days.

The Washington Capitals forward put together the T.J. Oshie COVID-19 Relief Auction, which ran from June 12-17, and it included multiple items from a framed Stanley Cup team signed Washington Capitals jersey from his personal collection, a Zoom call with Oshie, and a few other items.

With the auction officially closing on Wednesday afternoon, Oshie shared out the final results that same night and they ended up raising $27,430 towards MedStar Georgetown University Hospital’s COVID-19 Critical Needs Fund.

A couple of days ago, the Caps forward tweeted that he and his wife, Lauren, would be matching the total from the auction.

The money raised through this initiative will go towards personal protection equipment, creating and expanding COVID-19 testing sites, and other costs associated with the virus.
