It’s been a tough year for Tiger Woods after a single-car crash back in February left him with significant damage to his legs. Recently, Woods spoke publicly for the first time and opened up about some of the hardships of the following months, including the possibility that his right leg would have to be amputated.
He seems to be doing better now, though! Towards the end of November, he shared a video taking swings at the driving range. While he certainly wasn’t looking 100%, it was nice to see one of the game’s all-time greats back where he belongs – on the links.
While speaking to the media, he also clarified that he may return to the PGA TOUR, but not in a full-time capacity like some had hoped. He would instead pick certain events to compete in, and he would do so on his own terms.
Now we know when Woods will first compete again, albeit in a more light-hearted affair with his son Charlie.
The PNC Championship is a two-man scramble event for major champions and their kin. It’s a tournament that the pair of Tiger and Charlie competed at in 2020, placing five shots behind the winner (Justin and Mike Thomas) for 7th place.
The tournament is happening in just a couple weeks, so we’ll be sure to dial in for the results. While tracking the event will be cool, we – like the larger golf community – are just happy to have Tiger back again.
