Highlight reel goals are kind of our favourite thing.
Unreal individual effort? Also kind of our favourite thing. So you can imagine why we were so enchanted by this unbelievable goal that came out of the CHL’s Western Hockey League tonight, scored by James Malm of the Calgary Hitmen.
Now that’s a thing of beauty.
Malm dangled out all his defenders and ended up finishing the effort by scoring from his knees to put his Hitmen up 7-2 over the Swift Current Broncos, who they ended up beating 9-3.
Malm, a Langley, B.C. native, played four years with the Vancouver Giants, and was their leading scorer before he was traded to the Hitmen earlier this season. This beautiful goal took place on BE BRAVE Anti-Bullying Night, which explains the pink tape the guys are rocking.
As the team said in the tweet, the only word for this one is ‘Malmazing’.
