To be frank, we’re not sure how parents luck out with one NHL star in the family.
The odds are astronomical when it comes to making it big-time, so when there’s SIBLINGS in the NHL? It kind of blows our minds.
Such is the case with the highly anticipated Hughes brothers, Jack and Quinn. Quinn, the eldest of the two and the defenseman in the pair, was drafted seventh overall by the Vancouver Canucks last season. Jack, a lethal forward, went first overall to the New Jersey Devils in the most recent draft.
So, yeah. These two kids from Florida are pretty talented, and hockey fans are on the edge of their seats to see them make their respective NHL debuts.
Fans got a taste of that today, when Adam Kimelman, the managing editor of NHL.com, posted this video to Twitter of the two at the NHLPA Rookie Showcase.
Though it’s obviously for show, it definitely has us excited.
It looks like the Hughes brothers were having a blast all day, and Kimelman dropped a pretty priceless Step Brother comparison.
We can barely wait to see this sibling rivalry heat up on hockey’s biggest stage, and we think it's one that will be excellent for a long time.
