Earlier today, the Canucks assistant equipment manager, Brian “Red” Hamilton, put out a post on Vancouver Canucks twitter. During the Seattle Kraken’s home debut, a woman sitting behind the Canucks’ bench had gotten Red’s attention to show him a message on her phone. She wanted to tell him that she thought the mole on Red’s neck may have been problematic. We don’t know exactly what she said, but it led Red to getting tested and turns out the mole was a malignant melanoma. Red has since gotten the melanoma removed.
In the twitter post, Red went on to show gratitude to the woman who he regards as a hero, and was hoping to track her down to show thanks. Well, the internet went wild retweeting and sharing the Canucks’ tweet, and after only a couple hours it looks like the fan was tracked down.
We love to see the internet being used for good. Red even had a press conference after the Kraken fan was found, to talk about the incredible story.
