The Blue Jays have had an up and down season, but now sit within four games of a playoff spot and every game counts.

In fact, games count so much that some Blue Jays are suggesting they go Chris Sale on some alternate jerseys.

The jerseys in question are the red ones that the Blue Jays have decided to rock on Sundays this season, and the results have been less than stellar. Using SportsLogos.Net’s sortable-by-jersey results, we are able to see the Blue Jays record and run differential on Sundays with the red jersey. Overall, they were 3-5 with a -43 run differential. If not for the miraculous comeback in the Angels game on July 30 (Seven runs scored in the bottom of the ninth), it could have been even worse.

Well, the Blue Jays apparently took notice, because they chose not to wear their red jerseys yesterday and have apparently done away with them for the rest of the season. Ryan Goins wants to take the banishing of the jersey one step further.

For the most part, fans won’t be too upset to hear that. For the most part, they received pretty negative feedback online.
