This season has been an unbelievable year for hockey stars connecting with fans and sharing in heartwarming moments before games.

Now, in what looks like it could be another one of the classic moments that we’ve all grown to love so much, a 7-year-old hockey fan from New York has a special challenge for Islanders goalie, Robin Lehner

Jack, who was born with half a heart and has already had three open heart surgeries, is hot in pursuit of Lehner’s twig when he attends the Islanders game against the Maple Leafs.

Jack doesn’t let his birth defect slow him down in the slightest, and apparently, is a prolific goal scoring type of hockey player.

Five goals! This guy can score, with the added bonus of being a definite tough guy, having already survived those three tough surgeries. Somebody get this guy a pro contract!

This won’t be Jack’s first time getting lucky with NHL memorabilia, and managed to score a puck and a stick from Johnny Boychuk earlier this season. Johnny is also an active participant in the Matt Martin foundation, and has attended the charity’s hockey camp.

While the moment hasn’t taken place yet, keep an eye out for Jack amid all the boos at the Coliseum tomorrow night, as Lehner sounds as though he’s just as excited as we are.

Get the tissues ready.
