Hockey comes with a lot of intricacies that other team sports just don’t have, with the most noticeable being that it is played on ice. Given that, it also has one of the most romanticized vehicles to ever grace the sporting world – the ice resurfacer, often referred to (sometimes incorrectly) as a Zamboni.
We aren’t sure if this particular vehicle is a Zamboni or not, but it is undoubtedly the coolest ice resurfacer to ever clear a rink.
Believe it or not, there is a reason for it. The resurfacer is sponsored by Pierce MFG, which is a “global leader in custom fire apparatus innovations and manufacturing”. Basically, they make firetrucks and other fire safety equipment.
Well most companies settle for an advertisement plastered on the side of the machine, Pierce MFG decided to use some of their equipment to make the most attention grabbing ice resurfacer in the game. Apparently it worked, because here we are writing about it. Well done, Pierce MFG, well done.
