The Cinderella story of Sister Jean and the Loyola Chicago Ramblers continued on Thursday as the 11-seed team managed to knock off the 7-seed Nevada in the Sweet 16. Now moving on to the Elite Eight, the power of Sister Jean is at an all-time high.
The 98-year-old always warms up the team with a pregame prayer, and offers them her advice post-game as well. More than anything, her presence is what is helping Loyola inspire all lower-seed teams that it is possible to take down giants.
On Thursday, The Ringer released a hilarious hype video featuring sound bites and clips of Sister Jean, all set to a reworded version of Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean”
You can bet there will be much more Sister Jean content coming at you when Loyola plays the winner of Kentucky-Kansas State. While Loyola hasn’t dominated their opponents, in fact they’ve won their three games by a combined score of four points (!!!), there’s some quality about them that seems unstoppable. It’s the Sister Jean factor.
Keep it up, Sister Jean!
