Hockey gear is one of our passions here at BarDown and one of the greatest resources on the web for fans is the great SportsLogos.net.

Chris Creamer, the founder of the site, just posted an image that peaked our interest, so we thought we’d share. It all started with people discussing the “Yellow” Stanley Cup Final. He’s takin’ a look at every sock worn in a Stanley Cup Final in the last 100 years. Team socks have changed significantly over the past century, so it’ll take some background knowledge to be able to identify every one.

He explains that he used both home socks, so most of the time the pairings were never actually worn on the ice together, but the home sucks are much more distinctive.

How many can you name?

Basically all this graphic does is make us miss some vintage jerseys even more. Seeing those Mighty Ducks colours in 2003, the Flames socks in the ‘80s and the Canucks in ’94, we’re totally romanticizing those old unis.

Socks are an underrated part of hockey uniforms and this is a unique look at hockey history from Creamer, we definitely recommend you check out his full post on the topic.
