In case you didn’t know, we’re big hockey people.
So usually at this time of year, we’re used to having a little bit of a playoff hangover. In a regular season, Lord Stanley would have already been awarded, and we would be reliving the memories of what would have been a gleefully competitive, exciting, and rivalry-fueled Stanley Cup Playoffs that would hold us over until training camp.
Instead, it’s the end of June, and we’ve been dealing with hockey withdrawals for three months. Times are tough.
Better days are on the horizon, though, and sports have slowly started to return in different parts of the world.
Today, some of our hockey longing was fulfilled by the AFL, when a heated brawl broke out in a match between the Western Bulldogs and the Greater Western Sydney Giants. The melee was rivalry induced, passionate, and had playoff hockey written all over it.
Playoffs can’t come soon enough!
