Toughness has always been a big part of hockey culture, but in the expansion era of the NHL, fighting and violence hit an all-time high and one man went further than everyone else.

When most hockey fans talk about toughness, names like Tiger Williams, Marty McSorley, Bob Probert and many familiar names get thrown around. One name that you don’t hear very often is Steve Durbano, the NHL’s all-time leader in penalty minutes per game (Minimum 150 GP).

A new TSN Original Podcast “Durbano” sheds a little light on the story of the NHL’s most notorious villain, who spent nearly 19 hours in an NHL penalty box over the course of his career and more than 15 months in prison for smuggling cocaine.

The first episode dropped today and just from this little clip, you can tell that it’s going to be fascinating.

It's voiced by TSN's Senior Correspondent, Rick Westhead and will tell the tale of "Durbano's Turbulent life, both on and off the ice."

Today’s release covers a lot but it will be released week-by-week (Monday mornings) in five total episodes. According to the TSN press release, this is what we can expect to hear:

“Featuring interviews with former teammates Dale Tallon, Steve Shutt, and Dave Schultz, as well as Durbano’s family and his ex-wife Lisa, the podcast details Durbano’s journey from being a first-round pick in the NHL to being arrested for smuggling $1.5 million (in today’s currency) worth of cocaine, and eventually being arrested for attempting to hire an undercover police officer posing as a sex worker”
