Yaroslav Askarov was playing in one of the biggest games in his young career as Russia battled Canada in a super-charged World Juniors semifinal on Monday. What a time for some seriously unfortunate stick mishaps to become part of the reason Russia will be battling for a bronze medal instead of a gold medal.
As Canada and Russia battled on the ice, Askarov kept inexplicably losing his stick. It happened so many times that Ray Ferraro actually pointed out how bizarre it was that it kept happening. And then it happened again⦠and again!!!
Was Askarov fighting with his stick earlier in the day, or what? Because this nearly seems too wild to have just been a coincidence. Twitter delivered its own set of (mostly hilarious) answers.
