There’s nothing quite like this time of the year. The NHL and NBA playoffs are underway, and for the first time ever, the Call of Duty League Championship is about to start. While the Toronto Raptors look to defend their title, the Toronto Ultra have their eyes set on making an unexpected run to the top.
It wasn’t a dream start to the season for the Toronto Ultra. Through their first several events, the team was working out the kinks and trying to figure out which five players on their ten man roster would form the best starting unit. Fast forward to the last event of the year - the Toronto Home Series - and the Ultra has vaulted themselves up the power rankings. In what some might consider the toughest Home Series of the year, the Toronto Ultra came out on top.
They now enter the Call of Duty League Playoffs as the #7 seed, and thanks to that big win in the Toronto Home Series, Anthony “Methodz” Zinni and the Ultra have big ambitions.
“We know we can win. I think we just won the hardest Home Series of the year in my opinion so we can beat any of the top teams.”
Now that the Ultra has proven that they can compete with the best teams in the league, they’re not shying away from a little trash talk. And of course, Methodz aka Chef Tony is leading the way in that respect.
Along with polishing up his skills in the kitchen, Methodz has also come to learn just how passionate the city of Toronto is when it comes to their home teams.
The Toronto Ultra start their playoffs on August 20th against the London Royal Ravens. Hopefully the Ultra and Raptors can both share in a nice, long playoff run.
