Steelers players removed Le'Veon Bell's nameplate from his locker and took cleats from it

The Le'Veon Bell era in Pittsburgh came to an end on Tuesday after the 26-year-old didn't report to the Steelers to sign his franchise tag.

Bell lost out on $14.5 million, but (barring anything unforeseen) he'll be an unrestricted free agent in the winter and he'll have his chance to get the money he thinks he deserves.

While Bell has his sights set on free agency, the Steelers have their sights set on officially closing the book on the Bell chapter and they did exactly that on Wednesday in a pretty savage way.

Now that Bell is ineligible to play this season for the Steelers, his former teammates are moving on by getting rid of his nameplate and taking a souvenir for themselves to remember him by.

In a day and age in which we don't see star players actually go through with holdouts, it's hard not to commend Bell for actually going through with it, especially after what happened to Earl Thomas earlier this season.

That said, some of his teammates felt differently and in the end, it will be fascinating to see how the next chapter plays out for both Bell and the Steelers, who are poised to make another run at the Super Bowl.
