On Saturday, Sweden and the United States played a game for the ages at the World Juniors in the round robin (or preliminary round of the tournament).
Down 4-0 in the third, the United States scored FOUR times in the 3rd period to force overtime. In the extra frame, though, Sweden prevented USA from completing what would have been one of the craziest comebacks of all-time.
This wasn't just another round robin win for Sweden. This was a win to keep an absolutely ridiculous streak alive at the World Juniors.
That streak is now at 47 games and as you can see, the stats behind the streak (not including their latest win) are just ludicrous.
What might be crazier, though, is that Sweden has won the tournament just once since the streak started (2012 against Russia). They've made it to the final a total of six times since 2006 and have a 1-5 record in the big game.
