The NHL made a list of the 100 greatest NHL players of all time last year (Not ranked, for some reason) and two active players omitted from the list have received the most attention.

One is three-time Stanley Cup Champion Evgeni Malkin who has played at over a point-per-game through his career. Add in a Conn Smythe trophy, a Hart, two art rosses and a Calder and there’s not much that should have kept him off the list. The other player just passed Bryan Trottier for 16th all-time in NHL scoring.

That someone is Jumbo Joe Thornton.

After his accomplishment, the Sharks made sure to point out once again that Joe Thornton was somehow omitted from the top 100 players of all time.

They even pointed it out in an Instagram comment after the NHL posted a graphic celebrating his accomplishment.
