Brent Burns is probably the most versatile player in the NHL because he's played and excelled as a forward and defenceman over the course of his NHL career.
The 32-year-old has been great again on the back-end this season (48 points in 57 games), but injuries to a some forwards in San Jose's top-six forced the Sharks to move him back up to forward last game.
The move to forward for Burns wasn't just a one-time thing either. Thursday night against the Canucks, he'll be playing on the San Jose's top line and the Sharks announced the move in the perfect way. Hockey player is the perfect position for Burns because he's really doing it all for the Sharks at this point. Based on history, the move should prove to be a good one and although there's no telling how long Burns will be playing forward, it's clear his coach is confident the move will pay off.
