With all things considered, the 2018-19 season is going pretty well for the Ottawa Senators right now.
After shipping former franchise players Erik Karlsson and Mike Hoffman in the summer, the team has held their own with a 4-2-1 record through their first seven games. Spirits were high on Saturday during Ottawa’s 4-3 OT win over the Montreal Canadiens with the game’s best moment taking place off the ice. After Matt Duchene tied things up at threes in the second period, a Leafs and Canadiens fan of all people appeared to be cheering in the stands. The Senators caught the moment and obviously called both of them out on Twitter.
NONE OF THIS MAKES SENSE!
Okay, so maybe the Leafs fan hates the Canadiens so much that he was willing to look past the Buds’ rivalry with the Sens to cheer them on. But the Montreal fan? What on earth could this dude have possibly been thinking? Maybe he’s hoping the Habs will tank for Jack Hughes?
This is one that Sens nation will hold onto for a long, long time.
