You hear it all the time. “So and so loves the game, he/she practically lives at the rink.” Okay now imagines actually living at the rink.
It’s happening with a WHL team, no joke.
During the 24-game WHL Alberta division schedule, the Red Deer Rebels are moving into their Centrium home rink. According to the Vancouver Sun’s Steve Ewen, the move is being made to prevent players from being forced to stay isolated in their billet home rooms.
Whoa. Genius? Or a little too nuts? Regardless, it’s going to make for a wild time, and there shouldn’t be a shortage of activities available for the players. According to head coach Brent Sutter, ping pong tables, basketball hoops, and plenty of gym equipment will be around for the players to use. Honestly, sign us up right meow.
The puck is set to drop on February 26 so enjoy your last moments at home fellas, because things are about to get interesting at your home barn!
