The Nashville Predators signed one of the biggest fish in free agency on Monday in Matt Duchene. The former Blue Jacket, Senator, and Avalanche returns to the Central Division and heads to a city that is known for something he loves (aside from hockey), country music.
Duchene will definitely feel "welcomed" immediately in his new city, but just in case, the Predators decided to lay out a "Welcome Matt" for the newest member of their team outside the dressing room.
The contract Duchene signed probably didn't mention a house-warming gift, but he's got the perfect welcome mat courtesy of his new team.
Teams don't do that for every player they bring in. They do it for the best of the best and the Predators, along with Duchene, are excited for the future and what they can accomplish together going forward.
