Tornadoes struck downtown Nashville overnight on Monday, causing severe damage to homes and buildings in the area while leaving thousands without power. The severe weather alert was lifted early Tuesday morning.

While the city begins the process of rebuilding, the Predators are opening their doors at Bridgestone Arena to welcome any locals impacted by the storm in need of a place to regroup.

The Predators hosted the Edmonton Oilers for a Tuesday night game, but both teams had departed Nashville for their next games before the tornado struck.

The Oilers shared their support for those affected by the tornado on social media, and other athletes and teams in the area have followed suit. As fundraising efforts begin to get organized, we imagine that many of these teams will get involved as well.
