A shortened season didn’t stop Jesse Puljujärvi from putting together a career-year and Oilers fans are probably more stoked about it considering he did it in his first year back in the NHL after spending the past two seasons in the SM-liiga.
Puljujärvi celebrated his 23rd birthday on Friday and his teammates wanted to make sure they did something special for him, so they used some time during practice to sing Happy Birthday to the birthday boy.
What Puljujärvi thought was going to be a quick stretching session ended up being a surprise singalong dedicated to him and his special day.
Puljujärvi’s 14 goals, 10 assists and 24 points in 51 games this season are all career-highs, and reason enough for Oilers fans to feel a little more confident in his growth considering he totalled just 17 goals and 37 points in the 139 NHL games he played in before this season.
