Fast food restaurants and sports teams can finally hash out their differences on the World Wide Web and we got a Wrestlemania-worthy matchup today between the Oakland A’s and Wendy’s. In what could be the most meaningless series of tweets ever tweeted, someone posed the question “Who would win in a Twitter battle” of the corporations.
Well, they answered the bell, and Oakland came out swinging with 1986 Steve Smith level accuracy. By that, we mean we would consider this one an own goal.
Now, we saw that one go down on FTW, but things didn’t stop there. First of all, giving people runs as a baseball team is not an ideal trait, because you need more than your opponent to win. For example, the Athletics lost 7-5 to the Blue Jays today, and maybe if they gave away less runs, they would have won.
Wendy’s noticed the same thing in their “burn”.
