When the NWHL returns on January 23rd, it will do so in a New York bubble where the league’s six teams will gather for the season.
In a milestone for pro hockey, the teams will be joined by an officiating staff of all women for the season, in partnership with USA Hockey. The NWHL has previously used all-female crews for individual games, but this will mark a first for an entire season.
NWHL players and coaches have done so much to support and build the women’s game, and it’s great to see that this will now be replicated on the officiating side of things as well. Exciting times in hockey!
