Until Sunday, the Norwich Cadetsโ€™ menโ€™s hockey team hadnโ€™t allowed a goal since Jan 24th, 2020, almost 14 months ago.

After 730:26 of ice time and 11 consecutive game shutouts, their NCAA record shutout streak has finally been snapped. Castleton's Stone Stelzl scored to end the streak, doing so with just minutes left to go in the game.

Of course, the pandemic-related hiatus in the college hockey season played a part in the sheer amount of time that has passed between goals allowed by Norwich, but still, a 730:26 shutout streak is nothing to sneeze at โ€” and itโ€™s staggering to think about just how much has changed in the world since the last Norwich goal.

The Cadets were still able to win the game, 3-1, against Castleton, so itโ€™ll be at least a little longer before their undefeated streak comes to an end. Can they get another shutout streak going?
