The Memphis Grizzlies are rocking some throwback threads next season to commemorate 20 years in the NBA.
These jerseys look familiar as they are an ode to the original colour way of the Memphis Grizzlies which they were in their first 3 season from 2001-2004. This time was particularly special for the Grizzlies as 2004 was the first year they made the playoffs.
The jersey was originally an alternate for the Vancouver Grizzlies but was made the official home and away jersey in 2001. They also displayed Memphis across the chest making them one of the only NBA teams to put their city on the jersey at the time.
It’s nice to see a little love for Vancouver although it’s been years since the team has relocated.
