The latest Mitch Marner update brought out some different reactions from Leafs fans

For fans of teams with a big name, unsigned RFA will react to any piece of news that comes out until said RFA makes a decision on whether to continue the holdout into the season or ultimately sign a deal.

For Leafs fans, the RFA they're waiting on is none other than Mitch Marner and the reaction to any update involving the 22-year-old is notable. While there haven't been many updates on Marner, we got a pretty significant one on Tuesday from Darren Dreger.

Reports are accurate the Marner camp has had discussions with Zurich. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him go there to train in early Sept. Dubas and Ferris met last week. Positive talks, but no progress.

Yes, you read that correctly and are also remembering correctly that Zurich is the team Auston Matthews played for before he was drafted.

Lots of time before camp opens to find common ground. Either they can work something out, he sits (Leafs fill space for this year with short term contracts) or he gets traded (this management team will get a good return). At this point, all three situations work for me.
