The Los Angeles Lakers returned to the court for the first time on Friday night since the tragic accident that took the lives of Kobe Bryant and 8 other people and the Lakers did everything right in their first game back.

The pregame tribute ceremony got off to a pretty emotional start as music icon Usher performed a rendition of ‘Amazing Grace’ over different clips of fans and players mourning and reacting to the news.

Following Usher’s performance, a beautiful tribute put together by the Lakers played over a cello version of ‘Hallelujah’ and there weren’t many dry eyes in the building.

Boyz II Men took over after that as they performed the national anthem and whatever dry eyes were left after the tribute were no longer dry.

Before they got to LeBron James' speech, everyone in the Staples Center held a 24-second moment of silence in honour of Kobe.

The entire tribute was beautifully done by the Lakers from beginning to end.
