The Winnipeg Jets are officially on summer vacation.
The team’s season came to an abrupt end after the Vegas Golden Knights eliminated them in Game 5 at Bell MTS Place. After the Jets took Game 1, Vegas stormed back with for straight wins in a blink of an eye to capture the series.
The Golden Knights’ notorious Twitter team has been very active throughout the playoffs, occasionally poking fun at their opponents and engaging fans in any way they can. But following the series, the typically hilarious account, along with their adversary, exchanged classy tweets after the final horn sounded. After Winnipeg thanked Vegas for a great series, Vegas returned the favour and assured their opponent that they’ll represent the Western Conference well in the Stanley Cup Final.
Teams usually begin to hate each other at this stage of the playoffs, however, hardly any bad blood was established between the two. Both played a clean game and there was barely (if any) controversy. There seems to be nothing but respect for one another from each franchise.

As the Golden Knights prepare for a historic Stanley Cup Final, Jets players will start turning their attention toward how they’ll get over the hump in a year’s time. Unless this season turned out to be some sort of fluke, it wouldn’t be shocking if the organizations met in the Conference Final again next May.
