The Islanders' player of the game item is a legendary JOFA helmet

Player of the game items are handed out by NHL teams and over the years, we've seen some unique and awesome items given out that the players can usually wear.

From championship belts to broadway hats, the player of the game items always seem to be stylish, but the Islanders may have the best one in hockey because, well, just take a look for yourself.

The JOFA is the ultimate player of the game item and as our very own Jesse Pollock knows, it's as stylish now as it was back in the day when everyone was wearing the legendary bucket.

It may just be a coincidence (it's definitely because of the JOFA), but the Islanders have won 7-straight games, their longest win streak since 1990.
