The Columbus Blue Jackets and Tampa Bay Lightning put a bit of dent into the Carolina Hurricanes' plans on Tuesday night.

The two clubs battled it out for EIGHT periods before Lightning forward Brayden Point eventually ended things in the fifth overtime frame. The Hurricanes were SUPPOSED to play their opening game against the Boston Bruins at 8 PM after but the unexpected mattinee-turned primetime event caused a change in plans. Their contest was ultimately postponed to the following morning at 11 AM Eastern Time and as you probably could have expected, the team's Twitter team was popping off about it.

Just look at these four tweets the team issued during the action... they just so happened to help them earn nearly 7,000 new Twitter followers! Not a big deal or anything.

And the craziest part is that their best tweet might be the one they issued the following morning! BRUNCH OF JERKS!

The @canes’ tweets have been straight fire in the playoffs 🔥🤣

The NHL even responded to the fourth one!

It's crazy to think that this is just the beginning. If the Canes can make a run, we can't imagine how many more followers they might gain over it.
