On Tuesday evening, the Chicago Blackhawks had announced that legendary goalie Tony Esposito had passed away at the age of 78 after battling pancreatic cancer.
Playing the majority of his career with the Blackhawks, the three-time Vezina Trophy winner also holds the all-time franchise record for career wins, 418, and shutouts, 74, while his league record ranks at number ten (423-306-151).
In 1988, Esposito and brother Phil both were inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, while his number 35 was retired by the Blackhawks organization.
