The Vegas Golden Knights seem to be shocking everyone, including Los Angeles Kings defenceman Drew Doughty.
The Norris Trophy Winner is on record for previously stating his belief that the Golden Knights wouldn’t be a better team than the Kings. But low and behold, Vegas not only managed to defeat Doughty’s Kings, but now find themselves a single game away from the Stanley Cup Finals.
The organization’s success has stretched beyond the playing surface. In addition to their strong play, their Twitter team has been on point while their in-arena production team has had their moments as well. Ahead of last night’s Game 4 contest against the Winnipeg Jets, the latter made sure to remind fans of Doughty’s doubt in the pregame ceremony.
Could anyone in their right mind have imagined the team posting this kind of graphic on the ice in the Western Conference Final at the beginning of the season?!
Vegas and Los Angeles, newly division rivals, were neck-and-neck to begin the season. But while the Kings geared off towards the end of the campaign, the Golden Knights maintained their dominant pace. Their 51-24-7 record was good enough to lead them to a Pacific Division Title.
Things are going to look even worse for Doughty if Vegas can capture a Cup, so it’s safe to say a part of him is probably cheering for the Jets to makes a 3-1 series comeback.
