To kick off the new year, someone pulled a massive prank on Los Angeles by changing the Hollywood sign to “Hollyweed”.
They made headlines everywhere and because of how visible the sign is, everyone was sharing images of it on social media. It was possibly the first truly viral event of 2017 and of course, when something goes viral, memes are born.
Sports fans are a huge part of the meme creation community, so obviously, there were a lot of sports memes to come out of it. It even went so far as the Los Angeles Clippers doing their own edit of the sign to try and encourage people to vote for DeAndre Jordan.
More sports fans got in on the action though and came up with some hilarious memes.
