The Flyers head coach was mad at himself after accidentally referencing Gritty in an answer

The Philadelphia Flyers have basically been swallowed alive by a mascot that has taken over headlines for the beginning of the 2018-19 NHL season.

Gritty is everywhere. Just last night he was all over social media because he dressed up as Gritty Claus. We just wrote a story about the votes he received in the election. It’s all Gritty all the time. Even the Flyers head coach, Dave Hakstol, can’t keep the goofy mascot out of his mind. When he accidentally referenced the mascot, he caught himself pretty quickly.

Apparently all NHL teams needed to do to keep their players and staff from giving generic answers to the media was making them hate it themselves. Some people are starting to get a little bit of Gritty fatigue (Not us), and apparently Hakstol is one of them.

All we want is Gritty in NHL 19.
