On Friday, longtime TSN Calgary bureau reporter Jermain Franklin announced that he would be moving off the beat, in order to pursue another opportunity with TSN.
The Flames made sure to show some love during their camp scrimmage, honouring Franklin (who was present) with a video tribute as well as stick taps from the players on ice. Franklin has covered the Flames for 17 years.
Franklin has reported on the Flames as well as the Stampeders since joining TSN back in 2003, and clearly, he’s well-respected in the Calgary community. It isn’t every day that a team makes this kind of gesture to honour a reporter, but it’s definitely cool to see!
