Between the Islanders and the Knicks, it was a good time to be a New York sports fan Wednesday night. Two passionate fan bases were given thrilling victories, and the streets of New York were notably louder with an orange and blue flair to them.

Focusing in on the atmosphere the Isles received for their Game 6 elimination of the Pittsburgh Penguins, what an absolutely incredible night. The perpetual underdog Isles needed the wind in their sails, and the crowd certainly game it to them.

Both during and after the game, the atmosphere in New York may have been the best all playoffs long. Nassau Coliseum even got the 3rd Star of the game.
