The Philadelphia Eagles picked up a much needed victory over the New York Giants on Monday night, but the win came at a cost.
All season long the team has had to deal with multiple injured players on a week to week basis and they lost two more players early on in Monday's contest as Alshon Jeffery and Lane Johnson were carted off and did not return.
With both Nelson Agholor and DeSean Jackson already out of the lineup, and now Jeffery done for the night, the Eagles were running low on wide receivers during Monday’s game. However, they had a secret weapon waiting to go on their sidelines.
Due to all their injuries at the position, the Eagles actually considered putting in backup quarterback Josh McCown as a receiver, and the 40-year-old was ready to do it if that’s what it came down to.
With Jeffery now joining Jackson on the season-ending IR, McCown might have to get in some reps at receiver this week during the team’s practices.
