We’ve obviously never played any professional hockey, but if we did, we imagine our first NHL game would probably be one of the biggest milestones of our imaginary careers.

The early mornings at the rink, the long drives to practice, and the years spent in a cold hockey arena are all in a day’s work for a hockey family, and for the Thomson brothers, it’s pretty much in their DNA.
23-year-old Tage Thompson is a current Buffalo Sabre, and his dad is Brent Thompson, former NHLer and current coach of the AHL’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
Tyce Thompson, Tage’s younger brother who’s fresh off a season as captain at Providence College, will make his NHL debut for the New Jersey Devils tonight.
Who are they playing, you might ask? The Buffalo Sabres.
