The New Jersey Devils have had a remarkable offseason thus far. Some luck has played into that and their lottery ticket turned into Jack Hughes. The Devils also added P.K. Subban among others and have their sights set on making the playoffs for just the second time in 8 years.
We said New Jersey has had a great offseason thus far intentionally because the summer is far from over and on Monday, the Devils acquired the highly touted Nikita Gusev from the Golden Knights and signed him.
It's a big-time signing and one that deserved a big-time tweet to which the Devils obliged.
Gusev was a 7th-round pick of the Lightning back in 2012, but hasn't played an NHL game yet. The 27-year-old posted a career-high 82 points in the KHL last season though, and that has Devils fans excited about what he can bring to their lineup.
